MudPuppy has some of the cutest children's stationary around as well as a variety of other items like journals & diaries, and ring flash cards. The paper is high quality and the sweet adorableness of the pictures on the stationary make it a joy to use, send, and I imagine, to receive as well.
In this age of immediate gratification with, email, cell phones, digital photography, etc. I fear we have lost some of the goodness of a slow paced way of life, just in my short life I can remember not having a computer at home, not having a cell phone, having to develop film to see if the pictures came out or not. Don't get me wrong I love emailing, blogging, picture sharing, and other things that come with the computer, who can live without one now days? But our biggest loss has been the hand written note, I loved getting mail as little girl, I mean loved it. I still do, weirdo that I am a highlight of my day is checking the mail, and when I find something hand written in there I get just as excited as I did as a child. I try to write cards/letters to others myself, thinking that if they enjoy it even half as much as I do it would make their day. I must admit I am not doing particularly well at this time in my life, but aim to improve myself. This is something I want to pass onto my daughter, I don't want hand written notes to get lost from emails and instant messaging.
I keep a special stationary box just for Providence and she is allowed to "write" to others most anytime. We had some friends visiting this past week and so the girls wrote letters to loved ones together.
