namaste inc. :: vegan handbags & accessories {giveaway}

I was one of those pregnant women who bit the bullet and chose substance over style when it came to my diaper bag. And for the last 12 months? I have loved my one-strap backpack. It’s easy to use and my husband isn’t afraid to hold it when we’re in public. But a couple of months ago, I could feel a change coming. I missed all the pretties I gave up because they weren’t practical, and I found myself in need of, dare I even say it? A mom purse. You know the kind – big enough to hold diapers, wipes, snacks, and a few clean onesies as well as your cell phone, a novel, wallet and camera.

How thrilled was I to find Namaste Inc. had solved the age old diaper bag/mom purse dilemma? Ecstatic times ten! They pride themselves on “providing customer service that is prompt, personal, and friendly, while offering products and accessories that are hip, innovative, and fashion-forward.” I can tell you from personal experience they do just that. Their accessories are smart and inventive. The service is outstanding, and the products are phenomenal. Namaste Inc.’s wide selection of handbags and totes offers the perfect bag for businesswomen, photographers, crafters, and moms who desire to look fashionable but could easily fill a suitcase with all their necessities.

I chose the Laguna bag in black – but it was a hard decision with such fun colors as Eggplant and Peacock vying for the top spot. The Laguna has two exterior pockets and four interior pockets – one which serves as a divider in the middle of the bag. I love this feature because I can split my purse into two sections: mine and Katherine’s. The purse also has two handles and a removable, adjustable shoulder strap. Be still my beating heart! Function and style! Busy women often lament having only two hands, and this strap allows me to corral my daughter, carry shopping bags and dig for my keys without worrying about dropping my purse or struggling to keep it from slipping off my shoulder. The PVC-free, animal friendly faux leather is gorgeous yet durable – yet another mommy must! The cherry on top? It's the clear winner to be my carry-on when we hit the airport for our summer vacation.

Namaste surprised me with a matching wallet, and ladies, I adore it. It holds all my licenses, insurance, debit, credit and library cards in a way that I can clearly see each one. It doesn’t burst at the seams if the change purse gets a little full or if my checkbook is holding a few too many receipts. In fact, my cell phone even fits in it, making it a perfect makeshift clutch in a pinch!

The third fabulous find in my box is truly an innovation for those of us who carry big bags. The blessing of a large purse is also its curse: it can hold a lot of stuff. Enter the Cali Collection’s Oh Snap! Three piece pouch set. L-O-V-E. Small items that make their way to the bottom of your bottomless pit can now be safely stored and easily accessed when needed. Once again, Katherine and I split them up – a mini-notebook, crochet project, Excedrin and make-up in mine and diaper cream, diapers, an emergency snack, and spare pacifier in hers. The third holds our sunscreen & bug spray. Pure brilliance, and so very simple!

Whether you’re looking for a new handbag, wallet, clutch or an organizational system to return your purse to its desired Zen state, Namaste Inc. has what you need. They’ve also go your chance to WIN a Laguna bag and matching wallet in your choice of Black, Red, Eggplant or Peacock. Keep reading to find out how to enter!

Stay up-to-date with the latest from Namaste by following them on Twitter and liking them on Facebook!

great deal on a mamaroo

Just had to let you all know! 4moms is having a great deal going on right now for their mamaRoo's! Now through June 29 you can get a *refurbished* mamaRoo for only $130. That’s $40 less than the usual price for a refurbished mamaRoo, and $70 less than a new mamaRoo!

Just visit 4moms and enter the code INSIDER130 at checkout to redeem your discount. Unfortunately, they can’t ship refurbished mamaRoos to Canada, so this deal is for the US only.

*What does “refurbished” mean? It means we received a mamaRoo as an open-box return, so we opened up the base and inspected it (individually and by hand) before thoroughly cleaning it and boxing it back up. The fabric seat, toy bar, and toy balls that come with your refurbished mamaRoo are all brand new, and you get the same six-month warranty as a new mamaRoo. All refurbished mamaRoos are the 2011 model, and within the continental US you get free shipping, too!

boon :: flair high chair {giveaway}

For our third girl, we decided we would just go all out and do up the pink! I mean we already have a ton of pink in our house with the two girls we already have, so go big or go home right?

Well shortly after we made this decision, we came across the Flair High Chair from boon. LOVE IT!! Highly recommend it!! Keep reading to see why :) The following was copied from the boon website, but the "bold print" is my input that I wanted to point out as important info:

We know you have a Flair for good taste. No cracks. No crevices. Therefore, no abyss full of crumbs. This one-piece seat is the sleekest, smoothest thing going and it makes cleanup unbelievably easy. Its dishwasher-safe tray cover actually fits in a dishwasher. And the continuous height positioning with pneumatic lift is just a fancy way of saying you can pick the exact height you want to fit your table.

Pretty awesome facts in that little paragraph, huh! Well here are some more for you. I put my "two cents" in bold again to optimize the space in this review. Here you go:
  • Two tray covers included - You can wash one and still have one to use!
  • Removable waterproof pad - SUPER important for easy cleaning
  • Five-point harness and safety post
  • Single-step braking system - No worrying about the older kids moving the babies around. MAJOR benefit.
  • Six urethane casters to protect floors - NO MARKING!
  • Glides smoothly in all directions - Great for moving it around to clean what's been dropped.
  • Effortless continuous height positioning
  • Fits easily under tables with pedestal base
  • Child's recommended weight limit: 50 lbs. - Which means lots of years in this high chair!
  • Maximum ages: 4 years - pictured is my 2 year old and you can see she still fits just fine!
  • Seat height range: 21" – 26.25" AND Tray height range: 26.25" – 31.5" - Fine for moving up to just about any size table.
  • Base diameter: 23.5" - Not so big that if can't fit into a corner of the room or the edge of a table.
  • Chair weight: 28 lbs. - Not bad for such a stable high chair. We really don't move our highchairs around very much, right?

dropper stopper chic :: the drop stops here! {giveaway}

It's difficult for tiny hands to hold on to their belongings, and let's face it: babies like to drop things! My 11-month-old loves a good game of "Pick Up" as much as the next kid - but her momma? Not so much.

As soon as I saw the Dropper Stopper, I knew I had to try it - after all, it was invented by a mom! One end snugly secures bottles, toys, sippy cups, etc. with an elastic band which snaps closed. The inside of the band has an ingenious "grippy" material to keep items from slipping out. The other end has multiple snaps allowing you to lengthen or shorten the Dropper Stopper and secure it to a highchair, baby carrier, stroller, or shopping cart. The designer fabrics are as durable as they are adorable and hold up well in the wash.

We put our Dropper Stopper to the test the very day we received it, and I was not disappointed! In fact, I'm pretty sure that I need two. No longer do I have to crawl around in my SUV looking for sippy cups, bottles, or lovies that were tossed during a drive. Gone are the days of picking Katherine's pacifier up off the nasty grocery store tile or chasing her bottle as it rolls through a restaurant. As a mommy who prefers glass bottles, I also found my Dropper Stopper to be a nice little insurance policy. While I've never had a bottle break (even after dropping one on cement!), I know there's a first time for everything - and now I can breathe easily knowing that the first time won't be in the middle of Target. I even used it in church to secure Katherine's pacifier to the pew in front of us, as it has a habit of escaping her during the sermon.
Dropper Stoppers are the perfect gift for first-time or veteran moms. Every time we are out and about with the Dropper Stopper, moms and grandmas stop to ask me where to get one! Visit their website to order online or find a retailer near you.

the tag *a* long :: for kids {giveaway}

I am constantly asking my 3 year old to hold onto the side of the stroller, or the strap of my purse when were out running errands.

I worry when we get into crowds that she will get lost in the shuffle, and my heart rate skyrockets when we have to cross a busy street. I understand she wants to walk on her own, as she gains her independence, but oh, this mommy is just not ready to let go completely.

The tag *a* long handle is a perfect solution that makes it's easy for your little walkers to hold on tight, and stay with the pack.

What it is, is a weather-proof, plastic handle (that comes in 4 fun colors) that easily attaches to anything you want your preschooler to hold on to. Attaches in seconds to:

  • Stroller
  • Mom's shoulder bag
  • grocery cart
  • Rolling luggage

Personally, I love it, and my daughter thinks it's pretty fun as well. When I tell her to hold on, she knows right to grab.

tag*a*long :: $9.99 :: One of the best things about the tag *a* long is that it's super affordable. At only $9.99, I might need to get a few, and pass them out to friends.

A SIMPLE GIVEAWAY!
One SIMPLE reader will win a tag *a* long of their very own! Here is how to enter:

young bananas :: the owen diaper bag

It only took me having 3 kids, but I have finally found the perfect diaper bag! The Owen diaper bag from Young Bananas has fulfilled my deepest longings for a diaper bag. It is adorable and functional all wrapped up into one perfect little package to stuff my junk into!

And its not just the diaper bags I'm swooning over at Young Bananas. They've got all sorts of great products for mom and baby, with the most gorgeous and colorful fabrics.

Here are some of my favorite things about the Owen Diaper Bag:
  • 9 pockets to keep you organized - 5 of them on the outside for quick access
  • the strap is adjustable and long enough to hang over your stroller handle
  • WASHABLE!
  • magnetic snap closure makes it quick and easy to open and close when you're desperately digging for wipes!

As a seamstress myself, I can tell you that this diaper bag is of the highest quality. Everything at Young Bananas is handmade, and I'll admit it...I'm a little bit jealous of her sewing skills and eye for ADORABLE fabrics!

orbit baby G2 :: next generation, same revolution.

This here is the Cadillac of all strollers. At least, I think it is!

Orbit Baby and their G2 Stroller. I was extremely fortunate to get one. (I actually won it through a giveaway via Late Night Parents on MomTV, Dada Rocks and Dad Street - follow them on twitter for the latest: @latenightparent, @dadarocks, @dadstreet) And because I was SO incredibly thankful and fell immediately in love with it once I got it, I decided I just had to share this with you all!

If you want to see more videos on the Orbit Baby G2 stroller, click HERE and it will bring you to the YouTube page where Orbit Baby is featured. There are a ton of fantastic videos on here to learn more about Orbit Baby! Also, if you click HERE you will see a ton of information that shows all the research and everything involved with the brand. These guys are top notch!!

So...why do I LOVE my Orbit Baby Stroller? Let me list the reasons for you now:
  • Totally compact. Fits into the back of my SUV and doesn't take up a ton of space. This also fits very nicely into the back of any car from what I have seen.
  • You can buy additional accessories so the stroller grows with your child - from infant all the way to toddler...as well as multiple children.
  • The carriage underneath is so transportable. The red little pod shown in the picture is removable. It is our new diaper bag. It slides in and out very quickly and there is plenty of room for now!
  • So, so, SO simple to fold the stroller. With a twist here and a lift there, voila. It's folded (or unfolded) and ready for action! Even simple for this preggo mama who gets confused quite easily at this stage in the game :)
  • Comes with a snack tray...a total necessity for those long shopping trips.
  • The chair swivels and rotates and moves into any position you need it to move into. You can see that demonstrated in the video above.
  • A cup holder for my water bottle with divots on each side where I typically put my phone and my keys if I don't want to put them in my purse.
  • The handles are great for hanging things on...purse, shopping bags, jackets, etc.
  • The shade above the child's head is a GREAT size. Seems like on a lot of strollers, the shades never quite cover the head and eyes. And that upsets Adalynn. Not with this one!
Right now my Adalynn is riding in the stroller. We use the Stroller Seat attachment. As soon as the baby arrives however, she is getting booted to the back! :) But, I feel she will still love it because then she will get to ride on the very sweet and modern looking Sidekick Stroller Board.

orbit baby article-thumbnail-11_jpg_220x160_q90orbit baby article-thumbnail-53_jpg_220x160_q90orbit baby productimage-picture-stroller-g2-124_jpg_550x410_q90

Everyone is always stopping me asking what kind of stroller this is. I actually had a lady the other day at the museum stop me and have me take it apart a bit so she could understand it. She pulled her husband over to check it out as well. When I was done she told me she was heading straight to Buy Buy Baby (the only retailer locally that carries it). How fun!

I seriously can't sing the praises well enough about this stroller. If you have a retailer near you that carries this line, go check it out yourself. You won't be disappointed in it. And yes, the price point is high, but in comparison to what you get in this stroller, I truly believe it is worth it.

Orbit Baby Stroller Travel System G2 :: $900 :: Click HERE to find out where to purchase one for yourself. You can find physical retail locations that sell Orbit Baby, Online retailers as well as a Buy Now section. I have seen them at our local Buy Buy Baby.

The Necklace Nanny is Necessary!

{giveaway closed :: check winner's tab to see if you won} I don't know about you, but whenever I take my girls out shopping, it is essential that I have a toy for them both to play with. The Necklace Nanny is a cool product that allows those toys to stay hooked to my stroller so that I am not always picking toys off the floor (yuck!). The Necklace Nanny is super easy to use. You can attach it to your child's favorite toy and then loop it around your stroller or shopping cart. Forget about constantly bending down to pick up toys that your child has tossed onto the ground! The Necklace Nanny comes in three bright colors, and is made from a flexible, elasticized material that allows for flexiblity, and is machine washable (a mommy-must!). You can also wear the Necklace Nanny around your neck to entertain baby when you hold them.

One of the things that I love about the Necklace Nanny is that it also limits the "toy stealing" that happens when I am out with my girls! They love to take each other's toys, and with the Necklace Nanny, the toys stay put and no one ends up in tears, especially me

The Necklace Nanny: $12.99

The Learning Tower

About a year ago my oldest daughter really got into watching cooking shows.  She would often prefer to watch Paula Deen or Giada de Laurentis over cartoons and then would proceed to 'make stuff' in her play kitchen.  I quickly realized that it was time to start involving her more with the actual cooking process while she still had such a high interest.

There was one problem though... how would I get her to SAFELY reach the counter?

My solution has been The Learning Tower from Little Partners.  The Learning Tower is an adjustable step-stool that has partially enclosed sides, like guard rails, to keep your kids from falling out.  There are even cut out footholds on the sides to help them climb in & out on their own.  As young as 18 months you can start using The Learning Tower to let your little helpers... well help. (To the right is SIMPLE mom Shannon's daughter Lili and my daughter Michaela helping to make waffles.)

As we quickly found out, The Learning Tower isn't just a step-stool.  It makes an excellent fort, cave and time machine.  Little Partners even makes an Art Easel (pictured left) and Playhouse Kit to help kids transform their Learning Towers with imagination.

When I found out that Little Partners is a mompreneur company I wasn't very surprised. Smart mom, Carol Gamble, came up with The Learning Tower as a solution to her very own safety concerns when her daughter Hanna was young.  She really has thought of everything and I just LOVE how safe I feel when I let my girls use our Learning Tower!

GET YOUR OWN: The Learning Tower comes in 9 different colors and is available from Little Partners online store for $199.  Little Partners also offers free shipping on all orders over $99!

WIN YOUR OWN:  Little Partners has graciously decided to give one lucky SIMPLE reader a Learning Tower of their own, in the color of their choice!!! *value $199*  To enter you just need to head on over to The Learning Tower Facebook page and "Like" them.  Easy as that! Of course, you do need to come back and tell us that you "liked" them too... ;) (This entry is required)

BooB*TooB: The Only Nursing Cover That's Got Your Back!

As my baby girl is getting older (she's now six months), it has become harder to discreetly breastfeed her in public.  I came across this awesome nursing cover, called the BooB*TooB!

The BooB*TooB has elastic all around the sides of the fabric cover so that you and your baby are completely covered. My girlie likes to flail her arms sometimes while nursing and she is highly "distractable," so this cover keeps her concealed and focused!  The BooB*TooB is easy to use and it comes in a wide range of beautiful fabrics!

I was able to try it out in a coffee shop, in our church nursery, at a restaurant, around family, with friends, and at home.  I got so many compliments while using it!  I would have loved having this cover right when my daughter was born, but I am thankful I have discovered it now!

If you breastfeed, you will enjoy using this cover and you will wonder how you lived without it! It would also make a great gift for a new mom.

GET YOUR OWN! The BooB*TooB is $29.99 (with free shipping to the U.S. and Canada). The BooB*TooB etsy shop can be found here. Connect with BooB*TooB on facebook here.

SIMPLE COUPON! Use coupon code "SIMPLE15" in the message to seller section to score 15% off your purchase of a BooB*TooB! Coupon valid through 3/9/11.

Disclosure: I was provided with a BooB*TooB to showcase and review on SIMPLE. My opinions are my own.
