Taking Care of Your Little Travelers {little honey :: Giveaway}

With all our family at least a 45 minute drive away I have learned three things: 1) never underestimate the value of strategically planning drive time to coincide with sleep time; 2) kids can sleep anywhere; AND 3) being a human accordion looks (and must feel) VERY uncomfortable.

It was insight #3 that led me to find little honey.  Their stylish travel accessories for women drew me in, but it was the adorable kid-sized travel pillows that has made me love them.

Just like their momma sized versions each little honey kids travel pillow "is filled with thousands of microbeads for super light and squishy comfort.  The front printed side is a soft poly/spandex blend so its easy to clean and the back side is a super plush velour for ultimate cuddling.  Each pillow also has a fabric loop so it's easy to attach to your kid's backpack or travel bag."

While the included instructions called for only spot cleaning the little honey website product description does say that the pillow can be hand washed and line dried.  If your kid drools in their sleep like mine do this is SUPER awesome to know since nobody should have to sleep in the smell of dried spit. (Because that's just gross.)

Here you can see Michaela with her new purple giraffe little honey kids travel pillow.  She LOVES her new "car pillow" and was working very hard to pretend sleep here while she modeled for me. :) FYI: these travel pillows are not meant for use with children under 3 years of age!

High-five for safety with Parking Pal

I have a three year old, I like to leave the house regularly, and I had a problem.  Every time I was loading her baby sister into the car my three year old would move around and sometimes I wasn't able to see her.  Since we live in an apartment complex with a semi-busy parking lot this was a HUGE concern for me.  Then I discovered the Parking Pal.

The Parking Pal is a magnet that you put on your car.  Just clean a spot for it on your vehicle, stick on the Parking Pal, and teach your kid to give it a 'high-five' every time you are loading or unloading.

Now when we go out to the car my three year old stays in place while I load up her sister.  She loves trying to make her fingers match up with the hand on the Parking Pal and tells me all about the different fish she sees on hers (we have the FishyPal Magnet pictured above).  With seven different kid-friendly designs, each with the outline of a little hand in the middle, you should have no problem finding a theme for each of your kids.

GET YOUR OWN: Get your own Parking Pal from their online shop for just $7.99 each with free shipping for our readers using coupon code "SMR0910" at checkout!!!

WIN YOUR OWN: Parking Pal has graciously decided to give one of our readers a Parking Pal FishyPal magnet!!!  To enter just visit the Parking Pal website and tell us what other Parking Pal your kiddo would love to use.

Additional Entries: (leave a separate comment for each)
Winner will be randomly selected and announced on October 7, 2010. Good luck!

The oobr is "uber" cool!!

I am in the car ALL the time it seems. It is a very rare day if the girls and I stay home...very rare. So every time my husband and I were at a decision point in regards to transporting our children, we take it very seriously. We do a lot of investigating, polling of opinions, etc. We don't make a decision on a whim. Safety is number one to us! With that being said, we found Clek and their oobr booster seat! Not only does it look super sweet, but it is SUPER safe! The safety, the durabilty, the...everything! This booster seat is the whole package!

Check out the "Company Overview" pulled from their Facebook page:

We saw a need to provide contemporary products designed to appeal to kids while being engineered to give parents all the safety features they want and the convenience they need. We pride ourselves in providing simple solutions so you can keep going without missing the stuff of life – trips to the grocery store and visits to grandma’s house. clek products go with you and your child on every adventure across town or across country.

We utilize clever, striking design and advanced engineering techniques to create meticulously-crafted products that excel in both “form” and “function.” We're focused on the innovative solution to make your life easier without sacrificing the style and safety you expect. To sum it up, clek is a kid-focused company that provides clever products for modern families on the move.

One thing my husband kept saying as he was installing the booster seat was, "WOW, this is intense!" So...obviously I had to get in on the action. What he was talking about was the safety and the size of the seat. My first thought was, ok, how am I going to move this seat from car to car. No worries all of you out there who are constantly moving your car seats from one car to the other. It's not bad at all!! :)

You can follow Clek on Facebook too!

GET YOUR OWN: Now that you have heard what I have to say, it's time to go and check it out yourself. Or, you can just take my word for it and get one! :) You can get one like the one pictured for around $300. The other styles you can get for a little less!

*I was provided with oobr Paul Frank booster seat pictured above from Clek free of charge.*

Motor Oil Matters & Jiffy Lube GC

Did you know more than 54 percent of customers who take their vehicles for service and repair are women?

And that using a high-quality motor oil in the right grade can help maximize fuel economy?

So we women need to be informed and ready to talk "car talk" when we take care of our vehicles. I am fortunate to have a husband who takes good care of our cars, so I don't usually have to don't worry about what type of oil to use.... but I've stood in a motor oil aisle before staring at all the choices... LOL!!

There is a website, MotorOilMatters.org, that can help us women be informed about what oil to use and how to keep our vehicles run efficiently:) My favorite parts of the website is Choosing the Right Oil and 7 question interactive quiz that tested my oil knowledge! Let's just say some of the terms were totally NEW to me:)

After reading through the site, I am ready to get my own oil changed and better care for our beloved minivan! And you will be, too!!

WIN YOUR OWN!! We have a $35 Jiffy Lube gift card (which will cover an oil change) for a SIMPLE reader compliments of MyBlogSpark, MotorOilMatters.org and Jiffy Lube! Visit MotorOilMatters.org and take the quiz and share the results OR share a fact you learned:)
