Go Anywhere Booster Seat :: {giveaway}

My son is at that tricky age. The age where you can't take him anywhere, definitely can't take your eye off him for a single second, and don't trust him to save your life. That's right, he's 18 months old, and full of trouble. Or is that curiosity?

When we go out to restaurants, I cannot trust him to stay in the booster seat the restaurant provides, and most highchairs these days are either broken or too nasty for us to use. Problem? We have one.

The Go Anywhere Booster Seat has easily solved our dining out problems.

I love many things about this product, but here are a few that I love to grandma's house and back:
  • It's super secure and attaches to so many different adult chairs.
  • Three words: five point harness. Yep, you know what that means, my kid cannot escape.
  • Wipes up easily and Packs up quickly for super fast transportation.
  • It the design looks great, which means I don't mind hauling it around with us.

I'm pretty sure we will be schlepping this little piece of gear with us on all our summer adventures.

west bend :: cooking up traditions since 1911 {giveaway}

For a few years now I've been thinking about getting a bread maker.  But as enticing as the thought of fresh made bread was, I had been a little nervous about how much effort it would take on my part to actually use the bread maker, clean it, etc.  I should have been much less worried about all that and much more full of delicious warm home made bread!

About four weeks ago I started using a West Bend Hi-Rise Bread Maker.  I am in total love with this machine.  Not only is there a list of recipes to use included in the user manual, the machine is easy to use and even easier to clean!  I just finished making a loaf of bread and all I had to do was add the ingredients, plug in the machine, and push 4 buttons (I counted).  The most time consuming part of the whole process was by far the measurement of the 6 ingredients it took to make my delicious bread.

Here's all the "bells & whistles" info about the awesome and affordable Hi-Rise Bread Maker:
  • Dual knead blades provide thorough dough kneading for a lighter taste and higher rise!
  • Traditionally shaped, horizontal bread pan can accommodate 4 different loaf sizes; 1 lb, 1.5 lb, 2 lb, and 2.5 lb.
  • 11 digital settings include Basic, Quick, French, Sweet, Dough, and a special customizable homemade setting.
  • Easy enough for beginners, but customizable for expert bakers as well. The ""homemade"" setting allows preferences to be set for kneading, rising, baking, and keeping warm.
  • 3 level crust control: Light, Medium, and Dark.
  • Delayed start cycle is programmable for up to 12 hours, set it in the morning and come home to the scent of freshly baked bread.
  • Instruction manual includes many delicious recipes, including garlic bread, wheat bread, bagel dough, even Low Carb and Gluten-free!
  • Includes 2 knead blades, non-stick bread pan, measuring cup and spoon, and knead blade removal tool.

Now, I'm not laying claim to being the world's greatest baker, but my bread is pretty darn tasty even though my loaves have been a little misshapen (I swear I've been trying to fix that but this darn Michigan weather keeps changing and ruining it for me).  I know my family loves our new Hi-Rise Bread Maker as much as I do because I can guarantee this loaf will be completely gone by mid afternoon.

kozy shack :: CowRageous! snack pudding

As a mom and the primary grocery shopper in our house I try to choose healthy options for our family.  There's some foods that I'd love to have on hand for snacks and treats, but when I read the food labels for them I just cringe and put them back on the shelf.

The day after my 3 year old tried to throw some not so healthy snack pudding into our cart while shopping, I found the perfect alternative when I came across Kozy Shack's CowRageous! snack puddings.  I was excited to see that CowRageous! all-natural snack puddings are not only made with real (low-fat) milk and natural ingredients, they are only 100 calories a serving with 3 grams of fiber!  Plus they have NO artificial colors, flavors, preservatives or hydrogenated oils!!!

But the real test would be how they tasted... and they taste great!  We have tried the vanilla, chocolate and strawberry flavored CowRageous! snack puddings and chocolate was easily the household favorite.  I had to say thought that every time I had vanilla flavored CowRageous! it would make me think of créme brulée. YUMMMM!!!

CowRageous! 6-pack snack puddings :: prices vary, but around $4 :: available in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry flavors from your local grocer. Want to find the nearest retailer?  Check here for a Store Listing.

gourmet du village :: elegant entertaining

Having just spent the holiday weekend with family and friends I know that summer has officially kicked off.  With that comes many more get togethers at the lake, grilling out and just having fun.  Which also means there will be many more times where I'll need to help provide some snacks and food.

Gourmet du Village has helped me start this new summer entertaining season off right and I'm pretty sure that I'll be using them to help continue that trend.  Not only was making the Onion Chive Dip Mix that came with my Cabernet Dip Chiller beyond easy (mix 1 cup sour cream and 1 cup mayo with the dip mix packet and let sit for 15 min.) it was so DELICIOUS that even the kids loved it!!!

Before I tried the Dip Chiller out I was a little skeptical of how long it would work to keep dips chilled.  The basic premise being that you add ice to the chiller and then put your dip in the top.  I was amazed when I needed to replenish the ice in the chiller only once in the 4 hours we were outside on a 94 degree afternoon, and my dip was still cool when it was time to leave!  You can see the condensation on the outside of my Cabernet Dip Chiller in the photo to the right.

Each Dip Chiller comes with a different Gourmet Dip Mix depending on what color Dip Chiller you get.  The Cabernet Dip Chiller has the Onion Chive Dip Mix included, but we also got to try out their new 5 Peppercorn Dip Mix.  I thought it was pretty nice that Gourmet du Village's new Gourmet Dip Recipe Box packaging includes the instructions for making the Dip Mix into a dip as well as some other tasty recipe ideas to use your dip mix for.  The 5 Peppercorn Dip Mix Recipe Box had suggestions using your Dip Mix to make a for topping burgers or a nice grilled steak.  Drool...

Cabernet Dip Chiller :: $14.99, regular price $18
5 Peppercorn or Onion Chive Gourmet Dip Mix :: $3.99, regular price $4.50 :: stock up on these Dip Mixes so you can have a delicious contribution to any summer get together in no time at all!

skout :: organic trail bar

Skout Natural Foods was created and inspired by the Pacific Northwest, considered by many to be one of the best outdoor recreation areas in the world. Their mission is to provide great tasting, healthy foods to sustain those who embrace adventure and actively pursue the outdoors.

Skout Natural Foods are made in Portland, Oregon, with a carefully chosen handful of organic ingredients. The Trailbars provide a delicious source of naturally occurring protein, fiber and vitamins. Skout Trailbars are vegan, 100% organic and include a full serving of fruit sourced from local Northwest orchards when available.

When I was asked to try the skout Trailbars I will be honest I was a little hesitant because I wasn't sure what they would taste like.  I decided to try them and so excited that I did because the taste is fabulous.  They are a type of granola bar I would say.  I was also happy about the fact that the ingredients were all known edible products I knew.... This is the ingredients in the Apple + Cinnamon (MY FAV) trailbar :: INGREDIENTS: ORGANIC DATES, WHOLE GRAIN ORGANIC OATS, ORGANIC DRIED APPLES, ORGANIC ALMONDS, ORGANIC APPLE JUICE CONCENTRATE, ORGANIC EXPELLER PRESSED SUNFLOWER OIL, ORGANIC CINNAMON, SEA SALT. CONTAINS ALMONDS.  YES!! We all know these ingredients!!

My son loved the Blueberry + Almond trailbar.  Great snack for him and healthy!

skout trailbars :: $2.49 each or $26.99 12 pack

chobani :: greek yogurt {giveaway}

I totally just love saying the name Chobani!!  Let me just tell you that I LOVE this yogurt.  It is fantastic.  My favorite flavor is Pineapple.  It's the best!  My favorite part about it is that there is 13 grams of protein in these yogurts.  How awesome is that?

A little bit about Chobani ::
Mustafa Dogan is Chobani’s Master Yogurt Maker. He’s an artisan armed with years of yogurt-making experience and is responsible for crafting the rich, deliciousness that is Chobani.

Mustafa custom blends special yogurt cultures just for Chobani. These special cultures are added to our milk which is then strained with care to create yogurt that's outrageously creamy, and ridiculously high in protein.

This unique straining process is what makes Chobani Greek Yogurt “Greek” and full of flavor and health benefits:
· Only natural ingredients. Free of preservatives and artificial flavors.
· Free of synthetic growth hormones. (Milk from cows not treated with rBST)
· Includes 5 live & active cultures, including 3 probiotics.
· Made with real fruit.
· Twice the protein of regular yogurts.
· A good source of bone-building calcium.
· Gluten-Free and Kosher-Certified.
· Safe for people with corn, nut and soy allergies.

I think these yogurts are way better then any other yogurt out there. There were real pieces of fruit in the yogurt and no artificial sweeteners or corn syrup, unlike most supermarket yogurts. I don't like corn syrup or artificial sweeteners, so I am happy to find products that are sweetened with sugar. The fruit tasted fresh and delicious!

Chobani Greek yogurt :: 6 oz., 16 oz., and 32 oz., with suggested retail prices of $1.59, $3.99, and $6.59.

crystal light :: pur

If I were to make a guess, it would be that most men and women do not drink enough water. Do you drink your 8 cups of water a day? I really try to get it all in – sometimes I do pretty well, sometimes not so well.  It has to be really really COLD for me to drink it. But sometimes you just want something a little more than plain water. You want something with a little flavor – a little oomph to it. Instead of juices or sodas – which may taste good but contains tons of sugar – you can try adding some Crystal Light Pure to you water and BOO-YAH! Flavor. Without the extra calories and sugar!

What’s so great about Crystal Light Pure is that they come in these really convenient “On The Go” packs. Just throw a couple of these into your purse, gym bag, or in the car and you can easily convert a 16.9-ounce bottle of water (or your re-usable water bottle) into a refreshing drink full of flavor, with only 4 grams of sugar per serving.

This is a really refreshing drink made with Truvia, an natural sweetner!  Yes that's right a natural sweetner. I had no clue what Truvia was so I googled it.  It is sugar made from plant.  Can't get anymore natural then that.  One thing I LOVE about this Crystal Light pure...there is NO after taste!!  None!

Pure is available in five delicious flavors –
• Grape (contains electrolytes)
• Strawberry Kiwi (contains electrolytes)
• Tropical Blend
• Mixed Berry
• Lemonade

Crystal Light Pure :: around $3.99 a box :: Crystal Light Pure is available at many big name grocery stores nationwide. Each box contains 7 on-the-go packets.

fusionbrands :: foodpod {giveaway}

So I really love kitchen gadgets. Especially ones that are innovative and useful. Useful being an important requirement. One of my new favorite kitchen gadget makers is Fusionbrands®. On top of other requirements, they have some of the FUNNEST kitchen gadgets I've seen in a while!

Before I get to excited and start telling you about all the great products they offer that I want to get, let me get focused and tell you about the one I have, the foodpod. This thing is awesome.

The foodpod is a silicone pod for boiling, blanching, steaming and draining. It is excessively easy to use: just fill it, blanch/steam/boil it, drain and serve! I've used my foodpod to steam asparagus, hard boil eggs and cook ravioli. My favorite was how my foodpod worked perfectly to get all those pesky ravioli gently out of the water at the exact same time so half of them didn't overcook (just make sure to leave enough room in the foodpod for the noodles to expand as they cook and to stay submerged in the water). I also LOVE the fact that I can smash my foodpod up very small for storing, so my precious cabinet space is well used.

Important foodpod factoids to know:
  • made out of FDA food safe non-stick silicone (the pod) and BPA free nylon (the top)
  • can hold up to a dozen eggs or multiple heads of broccoli
  • top rack dishwasher safe & the bottom silicone pod is microwave safe as well
  • that little claw shaped clip on the end of the handle? Not only does it keep you from fishing out the handle in the boiling water, it also helps aid in boil over control. (nifty, eh?)

Here's a little demo video to show how easy the foodpod works:

mally designs ltd :: soft leather bibs {coupon}

Husband and wife team, Ron and Nicole Garza founded Mally Designs Ltd. (then known as Mally Bibs) in early 2005. As parents to a 3 year old boy and a 10 month old girl at the time, we felt the need to design a better baby bib. It started as, and still is, a family run business based on a new baby bib concept. Our initial vision was to design a baby bib that saved time and laundry while always looking stylish and new. Our answer? To make bibs out of leather for durability, ease of cleaning and stain resistance. The response? Amazing!

Let me just say that my daughter is terribly messy when it comes to eating and she isn't even eating on her own yet...I can't imagine what that will be like. I am glad I will have a Mally bib for it tho.  These bibs are soft leather bibs that are super easy to use and clean.  I LOVE the magnetic closure because I can hang it to the side of my high chair to dry when finished.  Another fantastic feature is each of their bibs is reversible.  Awesome!  I got the Daisies Leather Bib...it is really cute and it has the pocket on the front of it to catch falling food.  There are so many different designs you are bound to find one for your child!

You can also get the bib personalized with your child's name on it.

Those who don't instantly get it ask 'Why leather?' The answer is simple - easy to clean and guaranteed not to stain. It saves on laundry and makes life a little more enjoyable. Really, it's the only bib you need, but we think it's handy to have a 2nd one for the diaper bag as well.

Daisies Leather Bib :: $34.95

le bibble :: bib + bottle {giveaway}

funfunctional /ˈfən f ngk sh-n l / adj. 1. A product that serves a useful purpose while giving the user added enjoyment through its combination of innovation, fashion and unique design.

When I was asked to review this product I'll be honest I thought how am I going to do this. I just didn't know what it was for and how I would use it. Once I received it, it all made sense and I really wanted to try it out. At Macy's next bottle I put a le Bibble on it and started feeding her. She is a pretty messy baby when it comes to eating so I found that having the le bibble right there to clean up the dribbles was very helpful not to mention she loved to play with it and hold on to it.

I just love all the colors and fabrics they come in. So fun! Again I love details and when I saw that they came in these cute lil baby bottles I thought that was great.

These were produced by the founder because her bottles kept leaking all over her child. Great idea! SO comes le bibble. My bottles have never been leaky so I didn't have to use them for that but it was very helpful for the dribbles.

le bibble :: $12.00 :: The first Le bibble® collection, Le Lucie, is all about color! You’ll find ten bold, bright premium cotton designer print Le bibbles®, each with a super-absorbent double layer organic cotton underlay for wiping away dribbles. From hot pink to cornflower blue, they have something sure to please any baby, and mama, too!

This year, we are partnering with Green to Grow to help celebrate Earth Day! Green to Grow is a fantastic company that is committed to our environment through their eco-friendly practices, but more importantly, to the health, safety, and well-being of our children.

Green to Grow is the producer of environmentally-friendly bottles, sippy cups, snack stackers and more. They have wooed me with the adorable designs that adorn their products, then closed the deal with their practices and materials used to make their line. All of their products are made with the highest and safest quality materials, free of BPA, phthlalates, PVC, lead and nitrosamines. In a nutshell, you can trust Green to Grow products to be the best for your baby.

Let's talk about the details that every mom wants to know before committing to buy an entire set of bottles.

  • I have not experienced any problems with leaking or nipple collapsing, however, Green to Grow has solutions for that on their FAQ page

I have used 4 different brands of bottles with my babies, and trust me when I say I have done COUNTLESS HOURS of bottle research. the safer. greener choice {organicKidz :: giveaway}

The wonder and magic of childhood is something you’ll find in every organicKidz™ bottle. Our Stainless Steel Baby Bottles are a safe and practical alternative to plastic, aluminum and glass drinking containers. Made with babies and parents in mind, they’re easy to hold, hard to damage and dishwasher safe. organicKidz™ Stainless Steel Baby Bottles:
  • 4 and 7oz Narrow Necked single hulled bottles for easy warming
  • 9oz Narrow Necked vacuum insulated bottles so liquids keep cold for 5-6 hours
  • 4oz and 9oz Wide Mouthed single hulled bottles available
  • 2oz lid for easy measuring
  • BPA, PVC and Phthalate free
  • Compatible with most narrow necked nipples
  • Light weight and dishwasher safe
  • Unbreakable and dent resistant
  • Our products are packaged in environmentally friendly, recyclable cardboard
At first, my daughter was a little unsure of the wide mouth bottle. She quickly got used to it and loves it. We have always had to put cereal in her bottles and the nipple on this bottle is tri-cut and it works perfect with the cereal. Macy still needs her bottles warm....so I warm water first and then put it in the organicKidz bottle, works great but it gets a little warm to hold, so if your child holds it just be cautious about that if you still warm yours up. My daughter doesn't hold her bottles so we are good. I really do love this bottle. I use it every chance I get.
