Sigg Bottle Review & ACME Bags Giveaway

My husband and I try to drink lots of water. For the longest time though we've had to use bottled water... because our tab water just didnt taste good. We both decided though that buying all these plastic bottles was not only a waste of money.. but it was bad for our environment. Why use dozens of plastic bottles one time... toss them... and buy more... when we can buy one good water bottle, a good water filter and use it over and over!

Thats when I decided it was time to try out SIGG Water Bottles.

SIGG Display

SIGG is a rather popular name these days.

Here is a quick snippet that tells you a little bit about SIGG bottles and why they are so great...

Sigg coverted me
"SIGG reusable bottles exceed FDA requirements and have been independently tested to prove 0.0% leaching, helping reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals like BPA (see Newsroom for more). The proprietary SIGG bottle lining is a water-based, non-toxic coating that is baked into the interior walls and remains flexible and crack resistant for the life of the bottle. The special SIGG lining is not plastic – it is a micro-thin epoxy. Due to the finish of the liner, there is much less chance for bacteria build-up with a SIGG as opposed to plastic containers. The liner is taste-neutral and resistant to fruit acids and energy drinks, ensuring that your drinks taste like your drinks every time."

Baby Sigg
I really am enjoying these bottles.
We (as of now) own 3 of them.
1 Baby sized one
1 Child sized
and an adult size.

Both my boys have grown to love their SIGG Bottles.. and it is all we use now unless they want milk. These bottles can be used with milk but they don't recommend it. These are made more for juices and water... not milk.

Although I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to use it with milk a few times.. you just need to make sure you wash it very well.

The only CONS I have about these bottles are they can be heavier than a traditional sippy cup. This is a given since its not made from plastic. The good thing is they hold up well and are very strong! Your child wont crack this even if they tried :-)

Calebs SiggAnd another CON is that the lids get in Taites way a lot :-) Taite is also only 15 months old.. so his motor skills limit him some days... so he gets frustrated some times.. but he is quickly learning. He drinks from it fine.

Calebs favorite feature on his SIGG is the fact it GLOWS in the dark. Many nights he has taken it to bed with water... and enjoys looking at the glowing alien, astronaut and stars on the cup. He calls it his "special cup."

These Sigg Bottles will cost you a pretty penny... starting at around $15.00... but I assure you they really do make the water and juices taste better... you dont get that nasty plastic taste even after hours of sitting.
The bottles are also very strong and built to last!

I personally think they are a great fashion piece as well ;-)

The Sigg Bottles we got came from a website called Reusable Bags.
They specialize in all sorts of fun eco-friendly products... such as reusable bags (given!), totes, Sigg bottles (and other brands), lunch boxes and more.

They have probably the best variety of reusable grocery bags I have EVER SEEN!

They also have a great variety of SIGG bottles and a few on sale right now.

Reusable Bags would like to giveaway one of their best sellers... and thats the ACME BAGS Workhouse Style 1500 set.

Heres what you'll get...

  • Special bundle you get 4 bags (WE GET TO GIVE YOU 10!)
  • Each bag weighs a mere 1.5 oz.!
  • Made of tear-proof, rip-stop nylon
  • Handle fabric doubled for comfort
  • When stuffed in pouch, measures a mere 2" x 3" x 2"
  • Designed to fit over supermarket checkout frames
  • Opens to full sized bag the holds over 25 lbs.
  • Folds into tiny sack attached to inside of the bag (unique feature)
  • Available in 4 colors!

  • ACME Bags
These are the perfect bag for grocery shopping.. and gives you a much better option than using those awful plastic bags.. You'd be amazed at how many get used every day just in the US... the numbers are unreal!

I use reusable eco-bags almost every time I grocery shop. I feel so much better when I do this.. I think it also makes you look a lot more respectable for taking the time to actually use them... rather than just using the plastic ones because its "more convenient."

    4. I could use a new SIGG. I had one, dropped it, and it got a dent that leaks. NOT COOL! So, I don't really think they are that strong, but they sure are nice otherwise!

    11. I just received an order for water bottles from reusablebags (will have to use the coupon next time!) I opted for the Klean Kanteen instead of the Sigg because it is all stainless steal, not aluminum with a proprietary unknown baked on liner like the Sigg. Reusablebags included a free ACME bag and though I haven't used it yet it's very sturday, a great size and will be useful, so sign me up!

    13. Hello! The picture of the NY Subway on their site is sad, but true. I have heard great things about the "Sigg" bottles. I also have been hearing that beside the plastic bottles going into the environment, there are chemicals that mix with the bottled water. I thought the plastic bottles were recycled. We put them in our recycle container. I really like the "Acme Bags - Workhorse Style 1500!" Please enter me in your wonderful drawing. Thanks very much.....Cindi
