Playful Chef

Photobucket
Let me tell you a secret, I don't love cooking. I don't not love it either, I just don't receive that innate sense of pleasure from creating a recipe that I know others do. Children, however, love to cook - always- without question. At least mine does, especially when she has everything to go along with her job description, and Playful Chef Apron sets have it all. The measuring tools are smartly color coded with the 5 recipes that come with the set so even the smallest playful chef can decipher which one to use and how much to add.

You have the option to buy a coordinating cookbook in addition, filled with 33 recipes and 7 skill tips explaining things like how to whisk or measure, to how to grocery shop and how to enjoy your food (a page of tips and questions to encourage children to become a "foodie"). Each recipe gives clear, precise step by step directions and also includes planning, shopping, and prepping. Washing/cleaning up is a step in each recipe, and an important one to teach all those new chefs.

Buy it: Visit Playful Chef to find out how to purchase a Playful Chef Cookbook or Apron set.

Win it: To enter to win either a playful chef Apron set (winners choice of size) or a playful chef cookbook check out Playful Chef and then come back here to leave a comment telling me which item included in the Apron Kits your child loves to use most while cooking. If you do not blog or your blog is private, be sure to leave a valid email address in your comment. First name drawn will win Apron set and second name drawn will win cookbook.

More Entries: For another entry blog about this giveaway linking to both Simple and Playful Chef, then leave a second comment with a direct link or the URL address of your post.

Giveaway ends November 5th, 2008 - Will be submitted to Prizey Fetch, and listed in Bloggy Giveaway

  1. What my kids love the most about cooking is to "dump", so I'd have to say that they love using measuring spoons and cups the most.

My daughter's second favorite thing is eating raw flour, but we'll just ignore that for now...

  2. My son's favorite part of helping me bake is the mixing. So I'd have to say his favorite tools are the wooden spoon and the whisk! :)

My 11 year old would be the recipes because they have all the details from shopping list to clean up. She loves to cook with as little help from me as possible, so this would be a great way to teach her how to shop and make lists as well as cooking. Thanks for the contest!!!
