Truvia

It's true, little changes in your diet can lead to big results. One of my 2009 resolutions is to shed a few pounds and tighten up. Unfortunately, exercise alone isn't enough for me so I've been forced to take a good look at my diet.

A small change that I have made is switching from sugar to this new sweetener call Truvia. Truvia is a natural, zero calorie sweetener made from the Stevia plant. One packet of Truvia is about as sweet as two teaspoons of sugar. Additionally, It’s certified Kosher and safe for diabetics.

In the past, I've typically by-passed the artificial sweetener and stuck to the real deal, my beloved sugar. I've never been a fan of artificial sweetener because it's chemically processed and that kinda freaks me out (and in my opinion taste kinda fake). What's so cool about Truvia is that unlike other sugar substitutes, it get's it's sweetness from mother earth through the sun, rain and soil. You can learn more about the actually process here.

In my opinion, it does not taste exactly like sugar. It taste like a natural sweetner and it's good. There is no funky aftertaste and the initial taste is great...but it does taste different than sugar. Sometimes being different is a good thing, right?

So if you're trying cut back and watch your weight, I highly recommend giving Truvia a try as a healthy, natural (guilt free) alternative to sugar substitute. Truvia is available in cartons of 40, 80 and 120 packets and can be purchased at grocery stores nationwide as well as online.

I checked out the Truvia website. It sounds like something I would like. I'm fighting breast cancer for the second time. I had asked my oncologist about artificial sweeteners and he said it would be better for me to eat regular sugar than to use Sweet n Low, Equal, and even Splenda. I don't need any more chemicals in my body. I gave up Diet Coke, in fact, all soft drinks 10 yrs ago. They aren't good for you and the diet drinks all have chemical sweeteners that are bad too.
I'm going to take info. from Truvia website to my next Dr. appt. to make sure it's okay for me to take. I have the estrogen receptor in my type of breast cancer, so I need to ask him about the plant it's derived from and other ingredients.
Thank you so much for introducing me to this product. I have some relatives and friends who are diabetics. You've not only helped me, but others too.
Thank you so very much. We all need all the help we can get.
Thanks for caring. I can purchase Truvia at my Kroger's and Meijer's stores.
