Well my friends, I took the plunge. With the help of The Green Diaper Store, I have been trying my hand at...
CLOTH DIAPERING.
Oh yes, its true. And guess what. I LIKE IT! Thanks to Lisa, the owner of The Green Diaper Store, I am off to a GREAT start with it. She is probably THE MOST helpful person I have ever worked with. She even called me and spent 20 minutes explaining the different options for cloth diapering and how they all work. I think she should travel the world teaching Cloth Diapering 101.
I have started my journey with the All in One Sampler pack. This includes one BumGenius, one BumGenius Organic, and one Swaddlebees. I thought this would be the easiest way to get started so I didn't have to keep track of any inserts, pre-folds, etc. I really like all 3 of these diapers. They each fit my little one, (ok so he's not so little at 20 lbs.) perfectly, and I have so far had no leaks. However since I only have 3 diapers, I am still using disposables too. I have yet to use one of these at night. The only downside to these all in one diapers is that they take FOREVER to dry! That's the benefit of a pocket diaper. The insert comes out for faster drying. I will definitely be getting some of those to add to my collection.
And let me just say that there is not a whole lot of other things out there cuter than a little baby in a puffy cloth diaper! It simply cracks me up...and I love knowing it is good for my baby and good for the environment.
So if you're in the market for cloth diapers, whether you're new to cloth-diapering or a seasoned pro, I HIGHLY recommend The Green Diaper Store. The customer service absolutely can't be beat...Lisa has made herself available via email and phone to answer any questions I have. AND...she is offering a discount to our SIMPLE readers! Plus there is free shipping on orders over $79.00.
GET YOUR OWN!! (with a coupon!) The Green Diaper Store is generously offering a 10% discount by entering the code SIMPLE at checkout. (this DOES NOT include BumGenius, as required by the manufacturer.)
Happy Cloth Diapering!!
I just had my 3rd baby and decided to go the cloth diaper route this time. I definitely have to say that I wish I had done it with my first two babies. It is not as hard as you think it is.
ReplyDeleteI am going to watch how things go for you and may take the plunge myself.
ReplyDeleteHey Kate! I love all-in-ones too. I found that the brand "sposo easy" dries faster because it has a flap, rather than an insert or being sewn together. I have six that I use mixed in with disposables.
