ItzaBitza - let's draw and learn, computer style!

My 4 year old daughter LOVES to draw, paint and craft. She can spend hours on end with a pack of crayons, some blank paper and her imagination. When it's not craft time, we've recently be teaching her to use the family computer.

ItzaBitza is an interactive computer game for your PC that brings kids drawings to life! Basically, it combines drawing, early reading activities and simple problem solving exercises to educate and entertain your child.

For example, the game will ask your child to draw a house, when your child has completed the house drawing (even if it looks more like a cave than an actual house), the interactive character (called a Sketchy) will go in the house. Once in the house, the "Sketchy" might want to cook, so your child will be asked to draw a chimney. And the game continues...

At 4 years old, my daughter loves it but needs a little help and guidance along the way. This game is perfect for the +4 pre-reader crowd that likes to have fun on the computer (and learn a bit along the way).

I'm pretty picky when it comes to what online games my daughter can play. ItzaBitza gets my parental seal of approval. Actually, I'm not the only one that thinks it's pretty great. ItzaBitza recently received a rave review and a 2009 Parents Choice Gold Metal.

GET IT YOURSELF! ItzaBitza ($19.99) can be purchased via download online at www.ItzaBitza.com, or a boxed CD can be purchased at Amazon.com, Target, Best Buy, Office Depot or at OfficeMax.

WIN YOUR OWN! We have a copy of the game (via online code) for one lucky Simple reader! To enter, simple visit the ItzaBitza site, come back here and let us know how this game would help your child with their reading skills.

Winner will be chosen at random and notified on August 18th, 2009.

  7. On the website I found out that while your child is watching their drawings come alive in the game, they will read sentences at three levels. If your child cannot read a word, each word in the sentence has a form of word help. Sounds like a great program --- thanks for the chance to win:)
