Green Works Laundry Line

Clorox is releasing it's new line of natural laundry detergent and stain remover.... they must have known I had some laundry to do:) I've been trying out Green Works Laundry Detergent this week!

Since I am new the green products, I looked up how Green Works defined their products being "natural" I found this (on their FAQ page) very interesting and honest!

Currently, there is no industry standard definition for natural cleaners. To create Green Works® natural cleaners we set ourselves a very stringent standard. The ingredients must come from renewable resources, be biodegradable and free of petrochemicals. Green Works® cleaners are at least 95% natural. In certain cases we had to use synthetic ingredients, like the preservative and green colorant. But we're working hard to develop natural alternatives so the entire line can be 100% natural.

I wanted to really put the product through a REAL laundry test.... my wet, always damp smelling (yuck!) towels. So I threw it all in the washer:) I accidentally left the towels in the washer for over 15+ hours ... just plain forgot about them... told you it was a real-life test!! I was tempted to rewash them but I thought this would be a great TEST... so I tossed them into the dryer!! Oh, they came out great... would have never known they were my damp-smelling towels or that I had left them in the washer. All my other laundry came out great as well!!

I also got to try out the Green Works Stain Remover:) I tackled some new spaghetti sauce stains on some white cloth napkins. I usually wash out what I can, soak it for a minute or two with some bleach and then wash them out. The bleach wears on the cloth so I was soo excited that the stains came out just as easily after being rinsed and saturated for a few minutes with the stain remover.

One more thing I wanted to share was that they have been dermatologist-tested and won't leave a harsh, chemical residue on us or our cloths!! Just some of the reasons, I love bringing more natural products into our daily routine. But they have to WORK. And they have to be convenient, to use and to purchase!

BUY YOUR OWN!! GreenWorks laundry detergent retails for $8.79 (45 oz, 30 loads) and $15.49 (90 oz, 60 loads) and come in is available in Original, Free & Clear and Lavender scents. Get a $3 off coupon here. The laundry detergent can be found at stores that carry Clorox products!

  1. I have been curious about whether these products work or not, so thanks for the review. "Natural" cleaners can either be great or not work at all.
