It's all about KISS is the program that interests me. I'm looking to simplify my life and clear out some stress in 2010.
ReplyDeleteI watched the recap of Help, My Mom Friended Me on Facebook. I found it very interesting because I have two sons ages 16 and 21. The 16 year old has a FB page and actually is one of my friends on FB. Since my kids are older, I just was not aware that you must be 13 or older to have a FB page. I was also unaware that there are sites specifically for younger kids.

The KISS program speaks to me on subconcious level. Every mother needs to shed her electronic shackles every once in a while and just enjoy being in the moment. That's what struck me about this program.

KISS reached out and touched me! I've been trying to simplify my life for a couple of years now; gosh its hard sometimes.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I have a cell phone, but I refuse to text or have email on it for fear of becoming more wrapped up in being able to be reached all of the time!

main entry: I found the topic "It’s All About KISS" to be of interest & true to fact. Many times I have had technoligy disapointments due to realizing you had no batteries for the camera or the button you pushed to record did not take and all moments were missed. would love to win this for my husbands 52nd birthday, he has wanted one for some time now but we could not afford it with todays slowing economy the money had to go to other financail uses and we would not buy one until we could afford the best only Kodak will do, so thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeletesewitupjulie at gmail dot com
my tip for the Kodak topic I viewd on the thread "Its all about the kiss" would be that I agree with the one lady guest who said she uses gmail as her email server to insure saving all important contact info incase your computer crashes, while i'm sure there are other pop 3 servers that have the same things to offer I know I use gmail for that very reason because everything you do is saved in format to recover incase you suddenly loose power of connection and we communicate now days with almost everything via email so its important to keep saved info on all those things.

ReplyDeleteI liked the Help, My Mom Friended Me on Facebook. It's amazing how technology changes our communication nowadays. I liked the idea of choosing what information my family can see on my profile.
ReplyDeleteI did the It's all about kiss recap. I think the thing that hit cord with me is the woman that said that she used to blame herself for not being in the know about technology. Now she doesn't blame herself anymore and feels that technology companies need to concentrate more on real people and not the graduates of cal tech only.

ReplyDeleteHelp, My Mom Friended Me on Facebook! LOL I had to watch this one because this was one of the first things I worried about when I started blogging and facebooking etc. I gave in and told her about it and some other family members know about it. Thus I love the tip/advice that you need to watch what you write because if you friend them you risk hurting feelings with what you write OR not friend them and hurt their feelings.. double edged sword

I watched a re-run of It's All About Kiss, and I don't know if it really qualifies as a find fact, but I really agree with the woman who said that instead of trying to give us the technology that we want and need, some manufacturers seem to be more intent on showing off how far they can go with the technology. Which in the end isn't very helpful or satisfying for any of us.

I watched the "In the Year 2025" video and read the recap of the "Help, My Mom Friended Me on Facebook" discussion on the Kodak site and found the discussion of the evolution of social networking sites really interesting, especially the possibility that each of will develop our own "personal network" rather than rely on sites like facebook and the panelists' pondering about the "next big thing" in social networking sites. Thanks!

"Help, My Mom Friended Me on Facebook" was very interesting. I learned that Facebook's policy works with a minimum age of 13yo.
ReplyDeleteThey also talk about the lack of privacy in the digital world and how that's important to make children understand and be careful with.
In "The M-Suite" they talk about the wonderful help moms can find in the whole of mom's blogs, and how good it is to share things that way.
ReplyDeleteThey also talk about Twiiter's different uses in a family.

ReplyDeleteKISS resonated with me; I took some steps to simplify my existence. I am trying desperately to eliminate the air-sucking minutae from my life. I've even begun to limit my computer time so that I don't go on for mindless hours puttering about. I screen my calls ...no more junk calls for me ... and I give myself an hour of quiet time in which I regroup every day.
