Sleepy Wrap

I discovered wraps when Taite was a few weeks old. I was using a ring sling at the time and knew with time that wasnt going to cut it for longer wearing. I needed a carrier that would distribute the weight of the baby a lot better than any sling could do.

I owned a snugli carrier with Caleb and knew that wasnt the answer... even though it went over both shoulders the straps were SO uncomfortable!

When I saw a wrap carrier I knew this was what I needed.

I started my wrap wearing days with a very popular and affordable wrap called the Moby Wrap. I LOVED the Moby wrap and would recommend it to any new mama.

Heres the problem I found with the moby though once Taite got above 20 pounds. It tended to stretch and sag a lot with longer wearing... This isnt an impossible thing to over come... you just have to adjust it a bit... but it can get annoying :-)

I tried all the expensive wraps... Didymos, etc... the nice woven wraps were great but just seemed so expensive to me... I couldnt afford $100.00 for a wrap.

Then... after much research I discovered...

THE SLEEPY WRAP!

When I 1st saw this, one of the things I noticed was in their photo gallery most of the babies featurd were LARGER babies... A lot of stretch wrap sites feature newborns in the model photos... but not on this site.

I knew there was reason for it :-) and now i know.

This is a wonderful wrap. It has a stretch to it... but something about the fabric allows it to stay in place VERY WELL. I wore Taite on my back for a good half hour while cooking and washing dishes... he did not sag ONE BIT the entire time. Taite weighs 24 pounds now. (he just got weighed this past week).

The wrap is easy to do a back carry with. I was able to get it really tight over Taite... and then knot it in the frontwith no problems. I am not an expert wrap person either... I have LOTS of trouble back wearing in a wrap... but I did this with no problems. (It does take practice though... and if you love the feel of front wearing in a wrap you will love it on the back as well)

When the time comes that I have another baby... I will forsure use my sleepy wrap over my moby... I love them both and the moby holds a special place in my heart :-) because it was my 1st real carrier... but this one is just SOOO SOFT :-)

I would like to get it in a more neutral tone. The color Im featuring is their new green color. Its a fun summer color... but if I had to pick personally Id pick gray or brown. :-)

Now here comes to fun!

WE GET TO GIVE ONE OF THESE AWAY!!

  29. these look wonderful - I used a hug a bub in Australia for my twins when little - not much for them now - I only used it one at a time but these look great for an older toddler.
I would nominate Deeder's Mum Laura - @ oraeley instead of me because postage to Australia is horrendous - I will post about it too.

  53. ah ha. So I finally got the post up and the button...it took me a bit. Do you have a recommendation for a wrap that is safe during pregnancy? I would like something I can carry my 16 month old in but will not strap around my pregnant belly. Just wondering if you knew of anything that is safe. Thanks.
