Baby Patapum Review & Giveaway

Patapum DaddyOne of the latest crazes in the babywearing world is the Patapum Baby Carrier.

Its very similar to the ERGO carrier... which we own as well. My husbands favorite carrier by far is the Ergo. He said its manly :-)

I think it must have something to do with the fact it involves ZERO BOWS or wrapping ;-), the buckles must make it more manly HAHA.

One thing that was a down fall for me regarding the Ergo was how long the body was. I loved the way it held both my boys... it supported them very well and it distributed the weight well on myself... but it was a tad bit long for me.

This is why I really liked the Patapum.

Its very similar to the Ergo design wise... except for the fact its smaller.

I found that its larger waist strap was more comfortable as well..

The body and strap material is made out of a soft canvas material.. it almost feels suede like.

Heres some information about the carrier below (taken off the ATB website)

For infants with good head control/sits alone up to 40 pounds (approx 5-24 months).

Patapum Features at a Glance

  • Easy to wear and adjust
  • Can be worn front or back
  • Clean, stylish design
  • Lightweight & compact
  • Adjustable Waist up to 55 inches
  • Soft removable sleeping hood
  • Strap insides breathable synthetic.
  • Machine washable (Cold water)
  • 100% Cotton Canvas Shell
  • Suitable from 5 to around 24 months

Its a great carrier and its one of those that almost anyone can wear without any fuss.
If you dont like tying.. or wrapping.. these great structured carriers are a wonderful idea for you and your baby.

Just as a side bit of information.
I know a lot of moms own carriers that may look similar to the Patapum... but really arent. One of those is the Baby Bjorn or Snugli. I owned a Snugli with my 1st child.. and didnt really care for it.. mainly because it was hard to adjust.. but also because of the way it held my childs legs. I dont think a lot of people really notice it.. but I did.

When you use a carrier like the Baby Bjorn or Snugli it grips the child right at the crotch area? am I allowed to say that? It basically dangles them by their inner leg... and they have done studies about this and say that it can actually damage a child to wear them this way for to long... because of the pressure it puts on the wrong places.

If you have no concern about this than by all means use whatever you are comfortable with... but It is something I think people should think about. I dont like pointing out flaws in other peoples carriers.. because I dont want to offend... but I do feel the need to share why I believe these structured carriers are better suited for a baby than others...

Patapum

With the Patapum the weight of the baby is fully distributed across their bottoms.. there is not pressure at all onto specific limbs. Its a very natural seat for the baby.

Attached to Baby would like to offer a PATAPUM to one of you!

This is a $69.00 carrier! yours free if you win ;-)

  11. I just got an Ergo and while I like the way it fits me, the body is too long for my son. He sits so far down in that he's always craning his neck to look around. I have to put a blanket under him so he doesn't sit so far down into it. Maybe this one would be better? ;)
    Thanks!
