It isn't Fall without Apple Crisp!

Klackle's Orchard - 2008
What does fall make you think of? Apples? It does for me. So since it is fall season...here is a fantastic recipe that you will totally love. It is delicious.

Apple Crisp
Bottom:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
Filling:
36 ounces of sliced apple 1/4 cup apple juice1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
Topping:
1-1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
5 tablespoons butter or margarine

In a bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Pat into a greased 9-in square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, peel and cut the apples. In a medium sauce pan, add apples, apple juice, sugar, and cornstarch. Bring to a boil, stirring consistently, for about 2 minutes or until thickened and apples are soft, then remove from heat. Pour onto crust. For topping, combine oats, brown sugar and flour. Cut in the butter and mix until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
