When I think of quenching my thirst, I think about going to my faucet and filling up with a cold glass of clean, pure, good-for-me drinking water. Unfortunately, for MANY of us around the globe that is not an option.
While traveling to Africa to physically help build clean water wells is not an option for me, financially supporting the cause is.
Although I've cut back my holiday spending this year, when I do give, I'm giving meaningful gifts that give back (say that 3 times fast). Meet my new favorite holiday gift that gives:
A new store over at Skreened called Fashionthropic has new Well Water Project T shirts. There are four designs to choose from, my favorite being this cute little womans pink tee. Don't like the designs Fashionthropic has available? No problem! You can customize your own at Skreened.
Every single cent of proceeds from the sale of each shirt goes to fund the Well Water Project. A vision cast by folks from The Well in song with Horizon International to get clean water to AIDS orphans in Zimbabwe, Africa. Learn more about the project via this handy little digital brochure.
Another very cool plus with these shirts is that they're made sweatshop free on American Apparel digs, inked with water-based inks AND Skreened as a company gives away 10% of it's monthly profits to local causes they believe in.
Win it! While these folks are still trying to raise $2500 by the end of the year, they want to give on lucky Simple reader a pink womans tee in the size of their choice. To be entered, go ahead and leave a comment letting us know your favorite thirst quenching drink.
Giveaway runs through December 8th, 2008.
