Blurb your blog into a book...

I don't scrapbook. There, I said it and it feels good to get it out there in the open. But - I do love to blog. I blog because it's my way to document what's going on in the life of my family. I blog so I can go back and look through the archives on my site and see how much we've grown. In a sense, blogging is my form of scrap booking.

I have always thought to myself, wouldn't it just be the coolest if I could turn my blog into a coffee table book? I'm so excited - I've finally find a book publishing platform that does just this!

Blurb.com helps you create your very own bookstore-quality book with their simple (and free) bookmaking software for Mac's and PC's.

Currently, I'm making a book out of my 2008 blog post from my personal blog DesignHER Momma; kinda a "year in review" if you will. I'm not quite done with it yet, but I'm ecstatic to see the finished product. If it's as cool as I think it will be - I'm going to start working on a book for my 2007 & 2006 posts (yes, I've been blogging that long).

Blurb.com is not just for blog-to-book applications. At Blurb, you can make any type of book your heart desires. They have fantastic examples of books including photo, poetry, wedding, and even cooking. Additionally, you can't beat the Blurb's prices. A 0-40 page softcover book starts at just under $5. My hardcover blog book, with around 120 pages will cost just under $50.

WIN IT! We're running this contest just a little different than usual. Blurb.com is giving away bookmaking opportunities for five (5) lucky Simple Readers (a $29.95 value). In a month, after we've all done our books, I would love to highlight the finished product again in a second post on Simple.

To enter: Go to Blurb.com , look around, come back here and tell us what type of book you would make if you won.

Contest will run through March 30, 2009. Winner will be chosen at random.

I gave one to all of our parents. I also made a family cook book as Christmas presents for my sisters (and myself) with family photos throughout. My next project would be for my younger sister ~ I want to make a wedding/maternity pics/first few days of life album.
