Bringing Home Baby with Britax

Only 7 short weeks ago, I brought my newborn son (and third child) home from the hospital. In preparation for his arrival, I was offered an amazing opportunity to test out and review the newest travel system from Britax, the Chaperone.

Since this was my third baby, I was super excited to finally get some new gear, as my old stuff was really used and worn. Earlier this fall and while I was still pregnant, I tested out the Chaperone stroller. We're really enjoying it, you can read my full review about it here.

What I love most about Britax is that it is one of the safest car seats you can purchase. When my now 5 year old was ready to move out of her infant carrier and into something larger, I tirelessly researched what was the safest option for us. We ended up buying the Britax Roundabout and it's been a great choice.

So when I heard that Britax has developed a infant carrier, I knew I had to have it. We've only been testing it out for the past 7 weeks; but just like our little boy, we think it's a true keeper. We decided on the carrier in color "Savannah", but if I was a bit more daring, I would have chosen the "Cowmooflage" (which is pictured above). Although it's a bit heavier and bigger than what we were used to, the pros far outweigh the cons.

Just a few things that we love about the Britax Chaperone:
  • The anti-rebound bar, that keeps baby safe and insures the seat doesn’t bounce backward in the event of an accident.
  • The no re-thread head restraint. My husband just hated it when he would have to adjust the harness on our old carrier. It always involved a frustrating process of taking the whole carrier apart. With the Chaperone, you can instantly adjust the restraints, almost one handed!
  • The economical carry handle that makes carrying around baby from place to place very easy.
  • The easy of getting the carrier in and out of the car. The infant seat very easily clips in and out of the base making it a snap to get it out of the locked position.
Overall, I've enjoyed using this infant carrier and the stroller as one travel system. I feel my baby is extremely safe and comfortable either in the car or on a walk to the park.

GET IT YOURSELF! The Britax Chaperone ($229.99) can be purchased at many retailers across the country or online at Amazon.
