But Im putting it out there because I really have enjoyed the use of this sort of product :-D
Since I am no longer pregnant... I am entering the wonderful (sigh) world of dear aunt flow :-) aka a period again.
One thing I was introduced to years ago by a friend was cloth menstrual pads... I know the 1st though that enters our minds is "gross.... " but honestly its not... and you would be amazed in the comfort differences between cloth and disposable pads.
Like my friend said to me..."its like wearing a good set of pajamas."
Moonpads is an etsy shop that specializes in cloth menstrual pads.
The investment into a full kit might seem like a lot... but these last years.. and if you factor in the cost of tampons or disposable pads, it really does add up fast!
Many may wonder how you wash these...
This may be TMI :-) for some, but I want to mention it because I know people will wonder and it might help answer some questions. For me what I will do is get a small plastic bowl and fill it with water... set it in our laundry room. I then place the used pads in the water daily (to soak), and after 2 days wash what is used. You will want to wash the pads alone obviously :) I just use free and clear detergent and have no problems. Hang them dry and you are good to go for the next day. Its not bad at all!!
GET YOUR OWN: With a variety of fun fabrics and sizes, Moonpads has a perfect sized pad for every woman. From panty liners, to day pads or even all nighters :-) you can feel secure yet comfortable in these... with no waste and money saved.
WIN YOUR OWN: I get to giveaway 4 pads! Two pads per winner. So thats two winners!
To enter simply comment letting me know which pads you would like if you won.

Moonpads
Provided me with a set of 2 pads to review and write about.
I'm breastfeeding so I don't really have a use for these yet. I do think they are a good idea. If you think they are gross think about this: When you use a pad or a tampon and then put it in the trash it is going to start to smell. Then you take it to the dump and it sits and takes up space and stinks along with all the other feminine products and diapers. If you use washable pads you can just wash away the blood. If you got blood on a shirt or towel you would wash it out right?
ReplyDeleteI don't have a need for them right now (breastfeeding), but soon will. I love the sugar skulls print.

Perfect timing!! (TMI alert...) MY aunt flo is visiting for the first time since giving birth, four months ago. Since I am venturing into the world of cloth diapers, I would LOVE to try these and be consistent with being earth friendly!

I really want to try these. I am way past breast feeding stage and am in my mid 40's, so my pre-menopausal flow is very heavy and horrible. I hate throwing out all the disposable pads and tampons. I'm very curious.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
I love the day pads and overnight pads. I specifically like the blue and green colors. The sock monkey one was cute, too!

ReplyDeleteI like the Art Nouveau pattern, and I guess it really is not any grosser than cloth diapers and a lot better for the environment.

I like the fall leaves patterns. But I'm wondering... how do these not leak? Is there a PUL on the backside or something?
ReplyDeleteAlso, Drea, FYI, you're not allowed to have being a "fan" on FB as an entry into a giveaway. It breaks FB's rules. There's an article about it on BlogHer if you're interested!

I love these and have a few, but would love to add to my collection. Just a pantyliner or two, I don't care about color - they are all pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about these...
ReplyDeleteI guess I would try the pantyliners... color doesn't matter.

I'd try the Pantyliner Little Birds Organic Moonpad Reusable Menstrual Pad
ReplyDeleteI'd like to try the Over Night Organic Moonpads Cloth Pad - Pink Flames. Also, if you currently cloth diaper a baby, you can just rinse and soak these right with the diapers, then just wash them all together too, saving on loads.
