Avocados from Mexico

It's time for first foods over here at our house.  My little guy is 7 months old and he's been chomping at the bit to come sit at the table with us at meal time.

Honestly, feeding "first food" has always really stressed me out.  Their little digestive systems are so new and delicate, I only want to feed them the most perfect foods!

Avocados from Mexico is an excellent choice when it comes to feeding your baby his or her first solid foods.  Did you know that avocados contain nearly 20 essential nutrients and full of "good" fats?

I love this fruit because it's so versitile.  I've mashed it up and feed it off a spoon "pureed" style, mixed it with other fruits like bananas and pears "smoothie" style, or just cubed it up "finger food" style.

Avocados from Mexico have proved to be one of Gage's favorite first foods.  Well, actually, not at first.  The very first time I gave him the mashed avocado, I think the creamy texture threw him for a little loop.  Fortunatly, avocados freeze really well and I was able to store the rest in an ice cube tray for a couple weeks!  The second and third time around, he really loved them.

Avocados are awesome and don't get the credit they deserve.  And also, don't be afraid.  Not sure when an avocado is ripe or how to cut into one?  Click Here.  Need some tasty recipes to get you started?  Click Here.  Don't really want to eat one but would love to rub it all over your face a la beauty treatment style?  Click Here.

Avocados.  Not just for guacamole anymore.  (although guacamole is awesome, here's a recipe).
