I have an iTouch and an iPad. I typically do not let my girls play with it. Most the time I'm like a little kid that doesn't want to share her favorite toy.
But then there are those times. Those times when your waiting for your food to come at your favorite restaurant and the kids are loosing their minds! This, is when I compromise and hand over my favorite toys.
I keep a few special kid apps close at hand for these very moments of meltdown. I love apps where kids can color, doodle, or work on their letters/numbers skills. Currently, my favorite kid apps are the My Living Stories (which are only $1.99/per story).
My Living Stories are essentially classical animated stories such as Princess & the Pea, King Midas, The Tortoise & the Hare, Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The stories are accompanied by beautiful artwork, interactive screens and cooresponding sounds.
Both my 5 year old and my 3 year old have really enjoyed them. Currently, our favorite is Princess & the Pea, since we're really going through a "princess" phase over here. We've play with this story so many times she can "read" it me!
GET IT YOURSELF! Visit the iTunes store to pick up the My Living Stories app.
WIN IT! We have a $25 iTunes giftcard to giveaway to one lucky Simple reader. To enter, tell us which My Living Stories app you like best.
Contests open to Canadians (woo hoo!). The rules state that you may enter the contest on multiple blogs (running the same contest) but are only eligible to win one iTunes gift card as part of the My Living Stories giveaway campaign.
Winner will be selected and notified August 5th, 2010.
Disclosure - I am participating in the My Living Stories program by Mom Central on behalf of Decode Entertainment. I received 3 apps and a gift card as a thank you for my participation.
I'd like to try Goldilocks & the 3 Bears.
