Gloves in a Bottle

Months ago I recieved a wonderful product called "Gloves in a Bottle!"
As some of you know I have very dry skin. When I was around 12 years old I was diagnosed with Exzema. I have it pretty bad. Its all over my arms, and legs. Its not so much noticable... unless you feel my arm. A good way to describe it is goosebumps!

Ive been asked countless times... "Are you cold?" yet its 98 degrees out...
Sometimes if its a child I just say "Just a tad." and laugh.
It use to bother me A LOT... but with age I've gotten use to it... and it isnt such a big deal to me. The one thing though that does bother me with this is that my skin is always so dry!

I am constantly putting on lotion.
I go through so much lotion its unreal.
I cant even begin to name the different kinds Ive tried.
Some work fairly well.... but none of them seem to last.

This lotion Gloves in a Bottle though is something else!
It has a really interesting feel to it. Its not greasy at all (which I love!). It has a very liquid-ish type feeling to it. The best word I can think to discribe it is "soothing."

Gloves in a Bottle is a shielding lotion.
Here is what their website says when answering the question..."What is Shielding Lotion?"

"Daily use of conventional lotions (artificial moisturizers) can cause your skin to produce less natural moisture where it is really needed - below the outer layer of skin. And this is the only place moisture can resolve a dry skin condition. "When the skin gets this 'negative message' from artificial moisturizers, it can make it more difficult for the skin to heal," says Dr. Zogg.

Research into this problem has produced a completely new type of lotion, called a shielding lotion, that's getting remarkable results. "A shielding lotion is far superior for treating dry, itchy skin because it bonds with the outer layer of the skin and replaces the protective barrier, keeping the irritants out and your own natural oils and moisture in," explains Dr. Helton.

"Shielding lotions don't wash or rub off," agrees Dr. Zogg.

"Because a shielding lotion stays on and protects the skin it’s a very effective treatment for the dry skin conditions we see here in the winter months." "Severe dry skin conditions need to be treated with prescription medication for the inflammation along with a lotion to moisturize and help heal the skin. With a shielding lotion we find that the skin heals much faster, so the patient needs less medication," says Dr. Helton.

Good news for the millions who suffer with dry skin each year. Shielding Lotion can prevent a costly trip to your dermatologist and keep your skin silky smooth!

Like I mentioned above. I got this product MONTHS AGO. So I've been using it for a good while now. I mainly use it for my arms and hands. I actually keep it right above my kitchen sink. Washing baby bottles... and numerous dishes due to 2 children and a hubby who seem to produce a large amount of things to wash... I have to keep my hands moisturized.

Gloves in a Bottle sells in the US, CA and other areas.
I had to mention that because I know a lot of my readers are in Canada.
A 8oz bottle (which is what I have been using for months, still have over half left!)
Cost around $12.00
Its well worth the extra dollars for the softness it creates in your skin.

Order yourself a bottle today! You can also go to their website and view before and after photos. I found those really interesting. They have many testimonials as well.

  1. I should try that out! Last winter I somehow got a skin condition called derma-grafiti where the slightest touch raises welts and makes the area very itchy! It usually only happens at night. Thanks for the review!

  3. I use Gloves in a Bottle all the time - I'm an artist and end up washing my hands a zillion times a day (slight exaggeration). Gloves in a Bottle makes it easier to keep my hands clean plus seems to save them from drying up and cracking despite the paint, oil and thinners I get all over them. I also use it whenever I’m cleaning the house (not so often!), gardening or doing any DIY and find it fantastic at shielding my hands from any chemicals and dirt. Great stuff - I get it from the UK Gloves in a Bottle website - excellent service too.

  4. This site might well be worth checking out. Some great skin care and beauty products at affordable prices. By all accounts quite big in the US. The 'alternative to botox' Dremu Oil looks good. And some interesting anti-ageing creams and lotions.

  6. This product might be worth a look too - Skin MD Natural in the UK . It’s a shielding lotion which uses some new skin care technology (whatever that means!) to moisturize 6 times more effectively than the standard glycerin based moisturizers. As a shielding lotion it keeps the chemical irritants out too. It looks pretty good.
