10-10-10 *Good Reads for Mom*

As Mom's, we're faced with making decisions on a daily basis. Some are simple and as mundane as "what's for dinner". Some hold a little more weight, like "where am I going to send my kids to school next year?". And some are doozies that keep us up all night. "Should we relocated across the country?", or "Should I go back to work?".

Always wanting to make the right decision, these stressful questions can keep us up at night. I've often just wished that someone would make the decision for me - and have it be the right one. But that's not adult life - I am no longer 5 years old.

Suzy Welch's new book, 10-10-10: A Life-Transforming Idea
is somewhat of a road map to help us make personal decisions with confidences and clarity. Welch helps us see life's big picture while making choices. In a nutshell; 10-10-10 means: How will this choice affect my family in 10 minutes, 10 months and ultimately 10 years.

I'll admit I hate with a passion making "big" decisions. I'm constantly second guessing myself, riding the fence and lacking confidence. I really enjoyed the book 10-10-10 because the author is a mom herself uses her own (often humorous) life experiences as examples to ultimately living a life that is your own, created by a well thought out plan. I loved that this book often read like a conversation, rarely feeling like a "self help" book (I typically loath self help type reads).

Before reading this book, I've never thought of making choices based on the 10-10-10 model but feel it could really have an impact on my life. And for what it's worth, I'm excited to become a better decision maker.

GET YOUR OWN! 10-10-10: A Life-Transforming Idea (retail $24.00) can be purchased online or at any major book retailer.
