Safe Cloth Diaper Detergent

IMG_3633 copyMany of you know that I cloth diapered my youngest son Taite for two years. Taite is now almost 3. We on occasion still use cloth diapers though for nap time. He isnt 100% at sleeping during a nap without peeing... so its either wash lots of sheets.. or slap a diaper on him :) I choose diaper!

With cloth diapering though you have to also consider a detergent.

You cant use all the fragrance ones you buy at the super stores...
Most of those detergents were not made to treat cloth diapers.

Through the company BabySnazz you can buy a cloth diaper SAFE detergent by BumGenius. This detergent is totally dye free, has optical brighteners (to keep those stains away!) and comes in an award-winning eco-friendly certified box.

Get your Own: So if you are starting the cloth diaper adventure... and you are not sure where to start with the whole "washing process..." you can be safe and use this detergent with confidence.

bg-detergentWin your Own: We get to giveaway a box!! So if you do cloth diaper or WILL cloth diaper in the not to distant future, sign up!

The box we are giving away will wash 66 loads of diapers!

In order to sign up simply comment. To add some fun to this we'd love to hear what kind of cloth diapers our readers use! So if you do cloth diaper already or soon, let us know which brand diapers you love and why you love using cloth :)

Again check out Baby Snazz for more information on this detergent and more cloth diapering needs.

  2. We've been using cloth (Fuzzi Bunz) for about a year with the boy, and are planning to again with the wee babe coming in January (Gro Baby, Fuzzi Bunz, and Bum Genius). I've been using powdered Tide which works well, but have started investigating detergents made for cloth since we'll soon be tripling our diaper washing. Thanks!

  6. I've used Happy Heiny's since my son was 6 months old. I really like the velcro closures which is why I went with them. Now, however I am having a stinking issue - I'm sure it's not the diapers, but the way I wash them...
would love to try this detergent and see if it helps!

  7. i use lots and lots of different brands of cloth diapers but almost all of them are OneSized pockets. We love our BumGenius, Happy Heinys, Tiny Tush Elites, Rocky Mountain Diapers, AppleCheeks (not Onesize) and GroBaby (not a pocket but OS). We also love the gDiapers + cloth insert (not pocket and not onesize) Phew. How is that? :-)

  8. I use pre-folds. For covers I use thirsties, aristocrats and other wool ones. I want to make some homemade ones soon.
I like cloth diapering my children because I can feel good about what they have against their skin. And it's a lot cheaper than buying diapers all the time. Just a little more work.

I'm still working on what kind of detergent to use and I'd love to win this and try it out.

  15. I use cheap Chinese prefolds with awesome Prorap covers. Simple, sweet, easy, and super economical. I used Dreft when my son was brand new, but since then have just used the Costco powdered laundry detergent that we use for the rest of our laundry -- but I am considering trying a different detergent for diapers again.
So this is the perfect giveaway for me! Maybe it would help make my decision. :)

  16. Oooh, a diaper detergent compatible with a high efficiency washer! I'm hoping I can use cloth diapers this time around. I've been thinking about using the Econobum, although if it weren't for the bold colors, I'd want the Flip (both from the bumgenius makers). I think these systems will work out better for me as my HE washer cycle takes longer than regular washing machines, and I really don't have a good place to air dry the inserts (the covers would dry quicker.

  36. We're preparing for the arrival of our first grandchild this February. Based on advice from friends/family and on-line reviews we purchased Bumgenius 4.0 AIO and Bumgenius Elemental Organic AIOs and a sampling of Thirsties, Happy Heiny's, and gPants. Now we're trying to figure out how you wash them! Looks like we can't use our favorite Gain detergent with these. Anyone use Dreft??
