If you've never heard of Aden & Anais muslin swaddling blankets, I'm really excited to introduce them to you. Since getting pregnant with baby #3, I seem to be hearing about them all over the place - that they are THE must have item for your baby. I was in Target registering for a few things, when a lady stopped me and all but grabbed the registering gun out of my hand and scan them for me. (she was really sweet, I swear.) We proceeded to have a 20 minute conversation about why I can't live without these. Then the deal was sealed when I read about them on fellow reviewer Emily's blog.
Aden & Anais swaddlers are HUGE - 47"x47". There's plenty of fabric so you can actually properly swaddle your baby. Muslin provides the ultimate in breathability and softness. The fabric's light, open weave allows baby's body temperature to regulate itself naturally. The fabric is already ultra soft, but the more you wash it the softer it gets. And while these are traditionally used for swaddling, there are about a zillion other ways to use it - nursing cover, burp cloth, portable crib sheet, stroller cover, tummy time blankets, and more. Confession: I am sitting here on the couch with one over my lap while I write this. Don't judge me.
I don't know about you, but I have never been able to do a proper swaddle with your standard size receiving blankets. Not the case with Aden & Anais...easy-peasy and they stay nice and tightly swaddled. Let me show you:

Step 2 - admire and adore your little burrito. My nephew makes an awfully cute one.
Step 3 - gloat in fact that your baby is so happy and cozy that he can only keep his eyes open for 2 seconds and proceeds to sleep for hours.

I LOVE these blankets. We have used them to swaddle, have picnic lunches sitting on them, made fort tents out of them and now my son cuddles with them when he sleeps. LOVE them.
