exederm :: ultra sensitive skin care

My babies inherited mommy's good looks, and daddy's sensitive skin. (*insert laughter here*) While I love a well-fragranced baby as much as the next, all those scented washes and lotions can wreak havoc on a baby or child with ultra sensitive skin. My kids' skin has definitely become less sensitive over time, but I still find it best to use the most gentle, fragrance-free skin care for them.

We have recently had the opportunity to try out a skin care line made especially for ultra sensitive skin - Exederm. I love their simple philosophy: Avoid irritants that trigger eczema...always use the mildest ingredients possible. I confess, I'm guilty of using the "smelly good stuff" on my babes. But we've had our fair share of funny rashes, dry spots, and other skin issues that have needed the intervention of our dermatologist. (You'd think I'd know better since my mother in law is a dermatology nurse!)


Exederm has a full skin care line for babies and adults. They're products are free of colors/dyes, fragrance, parabens and much more. It has been specifically formulated to avoid harsh chemicals, unnecessary additives, and unproven herbal ingredients that may irritate and cause a rash on sensitive skin or trigger an eczema flare-up.


I personally really like the consistencies of Exederm products. The shampoo and body wash both "suds up" really well, which makes me feel likes its actually cleaning my kids. It has sort of a gel consistency, and other similar products from my dermatologist I have used don't lather like this does. The lotion is very thick, but rubs in well without leaving any greasy residue. In a nutshell? I love it! And I'm excited to have found this in time for baby #3.
